hey guys i m getting this error

try deleting your uisettings.json file in the share/settings or share/USERNAME/settings dir

I don't know if it worked for siddhantchd (I guess so or you'd've heard from him again) but I just had the same error message and the fix has just worked for me - so THANKYOU!

glad it helped =)

I've seen that error on more than one occasion. I think it happens when you have the client open from multiple locations and a write gets corrupted somehow.

Thanks again, but it's strange as I only had ruTorrent opened from 1 location (although I think by accident I did briefly open a 2nd instance in by browser [Firefox3])

In layman's terms, please, what does removing said json file do or not do and is there any reason to keep it on my home machine as a backup? ie, might it ever be needed again?
