Hi,
I have been running rtorrent with rutorrent ui for almost a year now and it works very well. But for some reason i can't connect with any android app like torrent-fu and torrenttoise. When i open rutorrent in my browser i use the adress: 192.168.1.20/rutorrent, what is the right address for android apps?

192.168.* is reserved for local / intranet use. You'll need to find your external IP (https://www.google.com/search?q=my+ip) and use that.
You'll probably have to set up a port forward on your router to your internal webserver IP, for that consult it's documentation.

But shouldn't that work when i'm on that same network? I'm running a vpn service for privacy reasons so i'm not sure if finding my external ip will work...

transdroid works fine for me, even using plugin httprpc.
But the thing is that it connects with rtorrent, not rutorrent. You must revise your settings for those applications to see rtorrent.
rutorrent is viewable via a normal web browser..
example settings for my transdroid:
Name: Whatever
Server type: rtorrent
IP or domain name:Your IP (just to check use the internal ip - if it works then use the external)
Port:80
SCGI folder:/RPC2 (in my case i use plugin httprpc, so here I have set /rutorrent/plugins/httprpc/action.php and it works)
username: your username
password: your pass

I hope this helps...

Ok, so if it does work when on the same network, then you must revise your router settings. Make sure that your ports are forwarded correctly and since you are running a vpn service then you should consult it's documentation, like Kolor suggested.
In any case it has nothing to do with rutorrent, nor rtorrent for that matter..
