I did make many testing with rTorrent, uTorrent and Torrenflux. I decided to rebuild the box from scratch with minimal stuff and use rTorrent. I was always getting the error "No connection to rTorrent. Check if it is really running. Check $scgi_port and $scgi_host settings in config.php and scgi_port in rTorrent configuration file."
rTorrent was running fine, I was able to Telnet the port 5000, all the configuration was fine... I wasted some many time searching... until I remind myself I had left SELinux enabled.
So, if it happen to you, disable SELinux ( http://www.crypt.gen.nz/selinux/disable_selinux.html ) and save time!
