Every time I'm trying to get onto the ui, I get the following errors in the script's log:

I find that pretty awkward, as I've even tried setting up access to 777 and giving ownership to www-data:www-data for every file in /var/www/rutorrent. To no avail.

Running Linux Mint 8 with lighttpd 1.4.22, libtorrent 0.12.6, rtorrent 0.8.6, newest stable xmlrpc-c, rutorrent 3.0.
The error occurs regardless of whether rtorrent is running or not. What am I missing here?

i didn't read it very carefully, but do you have php in there?
i didn't see the fastcgi in the server modules section....

Ok, I've dealt with the problem. All I had to do is copy 10-fastcgi.conf from /etc/lighttpd/conf-available to /etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled.
