I have numerous downloads setup via RSS filters... and until a few days it was working great...

All of a sudden the problem has become that the RSS feeds pull in the magnet link... a meta file is queued up and just sits at "downloading"

It never downloads the meta file thus it never downloads the torrent.. it just sits there...

DHT and PEX do work... as here is the glitch..

If I MANUALLY enter the magnet link URL via Add Torrent it will download the meta file and then download the torrent.

If it comes via the RSS plugin it won't do it...

Any ideas? ? ?

Really becoming a real hassle to have to baby sit this.. whole point is for things to happen in the background with out my intervention except to play things back! grin.gif

The feed is the same feed I've been using for over a year..

http://rss.thepiratebay.se/208.xml

Nothing changed... just it won't download via RSS.

I have to search via the TPB site, copy the link, and then it downloads..

This is what I get on the rtorrent screen:

Code:

* Tracker: [No DHT nodes available for peer search.]
D0F69142134A0006B24A439150284228DDD532F8.meta
0.0 / 0.0 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB [ 0%] --d --:-- [ R: 0.00 thr_3]
Tracker: [No DHT nodes available for peer search.]

0.0 / 0.0 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB [ 0%] --d --:-- [ R: 0.00 thr_4]
Tracker: [No DHT nodes available for peer search.]

I've done the whole DHT bootstrap thing:

Code:
dht_add_node=67.215.242.138:6881
dht_add_node=67.215.242.139:6881

And things work fine as long as I MANUALLY ADD the magnet links... but via RSS... forget it.

session looks lik this:

Code:
-rw-r--r-- 1 39291 2013-10-17 22:06 index.html?rss=1
-rw-r--r-- 1 55 2013-11-07 09:15 rtorrent.dht_cache
-r--r--r-- 1 29 2013-11-02 16:15 rtorrent.lock

...and, of course, it contents can't be changed in any moment without your permission. Do you really an owner of this site? wink.gif
Yet once. Try to compare magnet links from RSS (which doesn't works for you) and from site (which works for you). And you will find an answer to your question.

Sighhhhhhhh......... angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

Is there a better forum to find support for rutorrent? Which caters to the average torrent and seed box user? I don't care how it works.. just that it works.

This site is most obviously not it! Based on the "non reply" replies. angry.gif sad.gif

So I will take my efforts elsewhere... so where is the helpful support site for rutorrent?

Thanks!

Let me know if you found an answer or solution elsewhere.

My showrss changed to magnets as well.. which is why all my feeds stopped.
Indeed, if I "Open in Browser" the item from the feed list, it opens the huge magnet link. If I copypasta that URI into the "add torrent" box under Torrent URL, the torrent begins to download just fine.

So.. the problem is NOT with the feed.. it IS a problem with how rtorrent is handling the RSS feed containing magnet links. Clearly it can handle magnet links if I directly feed the very links the RSS is feeding it.. and that the RSS feed data is indeed just fine.

What I like is the WebUI of rutorrent.. it passes the "wifey" test which is a big deal. If I must abandon it in favor of a torrent daemon which can fetch torrents fed via magnets from RSS, so be it.
