noob question: how to install a plugin?

autotools works like this: you have a download directory set in your .rtorrent.rc for our example, we'll call it /home/user/download/ in this directory you create some subdirectories. let's call them /home/user/download/Video /home/user/download/Video/TV /home/user/download/Video/Movies...

    Help Defining WebUI.systeminfo

yah, you could try that. If you end up getting stuck, consider dropping the paranoia and letting someone (me? maybe novik?) help you. but if you're going to do a fresh install, you may want to look at FreeBSD. It's quite easy to install rtorrent on freebsd using ports (it compiles with...

are you using authentication? if so, then yes, create a folder in conf/users/ with the name of the user you are using leave it empty for now, and make sure share/users is writable by the web user then load the page. edit: actually, re-reading your error, i'm not quite sure what it is. is...

    Help Defining WebUI.systeminfo

yes, this bug has happened to me on fresh installed. I'm guessing this is a multi-user setup? so you have rutorrent/conf/users/SOMEUSER/ and you copied the conf file into the user dir. Delete the conf file from the users/SOMEUSER/ dir, load the webui, once it loads, replace the conf file.

Hi Guys, Beginner question here, but after installation, which goes perfectly I can open the rutorrent webpage and load up downloads etc. However after a reboot untorrent (which i believe is the combination of lighttpd & rutorrent) do not start up. Now I am sure it is a simple command line to...

    rTorrent Prioritising

ZFS is 20 years ahead of any other filesystem around. I could list at least 20 reasons why it's better but heres the most imports: 1:) ZFS is a pooled filesystem. You have what is called a "zpool" made up of "vdevs" A vdev is a virtual device, it can be a single hard drive, a mirrored...

    rTorrent Prioritising

cool, well if you need any help with ideas for how to dpo some cool stuff let me know. One thing i HIGHLY recommend doing is building a ZFS based nas. I have one with 20 1TB hard drives, and i'm about to build a new one with 10 2 TB hard drives (and space for 10 more)

or do what i did, replace your router with a FreeBSD or OpenBSD box. let's look at the facts. Most "retail" routers are 200-300 Mhz cpus with 32-64 MB ram you can take an old p3 or p4, throw in a dual port intel nic, get a cheap gigabit network switch, and you have a router which is MUCH...

    rTorrent Prioritising

you could handle the issue from outside of rtorrent by using FreeBSD and pf + ALTQ but it is prety complicated and outside the scope of this forum. Another point you should understand: Throttle works perfectly but it's not going to work magic. It's still limited by the torrents...
