Rss filter doesnt work

Hi i have two filters that dont work and need some help
they are for doctor who 2005 and merlin

this is what i have for doctor who
/^doctor.who(.|.(2005).|.2005.).S[0-2][0-9]E[0-2][0-9].*/i
the exclude works as it is a standard one
and for merlin i have

/^merlin.S[0-2][0-9]E[0-2][0-9].*/i
the exclude works as it is a standard one

how should they be written to work properly?

hrm, i'd use a regex checker website to verify they match what you want.

i have but they still dont grab it not sure if its because of how the episodes are listed and that is what i need help with as not sure if the filter is right
this is how the last epsiode was listed for doctor who
Doctor_Who_2005.6x02.Day_Of_The_Moon.HDTV_XviD-FoV

and for merlin it was
Merlin.3x13.The_Coming_Of_Arthur_Part_Two.WS_PDTV_XviD-FoV

so should the filters work?

you need to escape the () in (2005), else it's equivalent to 2005 what you already have.

the brackets were used as sometimes it is in brackets and the outer brackets are used to get it to try each varition to match

if i see it right you are missing a ) or have an extra one

and no, the merlin one won't work becuase you're trying to match

SxxExx not XxXX
