Not quite enough space for full torrent download...

I'm trying to download a torrent that's just a little bit bigger than my diskspace available on my seedbox. Rutorrent is showing that I've used 98% on my available diskspace, but I've limited the download to just one file of around 7GB.

I've tried a force recheck, I've checked the downloads folder and there aren't any other files there.

How can I get rutorrent ot recognise that I've only used up 7GB of space?

The attached snapshot is my rutorrent web-page:

Set topdirectory in your user config, since your downloads are stored on a different partition.

Thanks. I changed the config.php to reflect the correct top directory value.

This has cured the problem. rutorrent still shows the Diskspace as being 98% full, but it's at least not stopping everything anymore.

EDIT: No. I spoke too soon. This hasn't solved the situation.

topdirectory = /home/rutadmin/downloads/

which is the same as the directory in .rtorrent.rc

rtorrent has been restarted.

Any further suggestions please?

Type df -h to know how your partition works and du -h /home to know how many space you are using.

ruTorrent can't stop "everything anymore". This is *rtorrent* work. Check your rtorrent.rc for 'close_low_diskspace' statement. If it is absent, then this is equal

close_low_diskspace = 512M
