maybe a problem taht the HDD can not look for the data fast enough ? Did you set the timeout in rutorrent higher ? Also ... why do people want to look at the webui all the time ;-)

When I use ruTorrent in IE 8, my columns keep getting wider and wider. Its really annoying, and basically makes it almost impossible to use. Anyone know how to 'fix' the column width? Also, any ideas why it won't work in chrome?

So far no problems , so I think this will only happen when you try the same torrent from the same tracker, as it looks like every tracker creates a different hash , That must also be the reason why it's so difficult (impossible) to get muliple users working on one instance of rtorrent.

Yu can run 2 or ore the same torrents at the same time , maybe becaue the announce is difference , that then also the hash is different .. but I never have problems when I seed on 2 trackers at teh same time

Removing all plugins minus the rpc one stopped the freezes. Yes, I had the geoip plugin in. Also installed were geoip and php-geoip. Removing just the geoip plugin, there are still freezes when adding a torrent. And- using tcp socket via the rpc plugin.

In my opinion 3.0 is better than 2.8 It loads faster and is damn stable. I've left it open for over a day at a time and it's amazing. If you check the announcements forums you can see a few of the new features i've posted about...it's only the tip of the iceburg though.....3.0 is great.

php5-cli wasn't installed. It is now. I did include xmlrpc and i used svn to compile rtorrent.

Well, my bad, it was some kind of cache problem. I cleaned all cache/temporary internet files, rebooted my computer and everything is fine again. Trackers list and tracker column loading perfectly.

the work around is to not do it that way at all. Just pointing 2 torrents which are the same to the same download dir works fine.

After migrating from 2.8 to 3.0, and some minor glitches promptly solved with the always prompt help of this forum (special thanks to wonslung), I ran it (3.0) for the last ten days and it it was a pleasure to use. Faster than 2.8, deals better than 2.8 with lots of torrents, and much more...
