I too have doubts. The max_downloads_global = 20 and max_uploads_global = 20 won't work for me as rtorrent DOES use more connections despite these limits being set. I've even moved the settings up the config as per this thread but it still makes more connections...

to set RAM usage , use something like : max_memory_usage : 524288 This means it will use max 512MB

as mentioned before, if the torrents hash is identical, this won't be possible wihtout running multiple copies of rtorrent. If you are creating the torrent yourself. you can use a different piece size to force a different hash. This is not a limitation of rutorrent, but rtorrent.

i dunno bro. I've set up tons of machines with FreeBSD and never had an issue. Try deleting rutorrent and checking out a new copy via svn.

also, i've seen js errors happen when people mix svn plugins with non-svn rutorrent or vise versa

Try to configure plugin 'create' properly. Read the projects wiki and set path to external app in the plugin's conf.php.

BTW, you don't need multiple users to run multiple instances.

if these torrents have the same hash data, it will not work. rtorrent can't handle the same torrent from multiple locations if they are exactly the same
