You can find this variable in .../rutorrent/conf/config.php or .../rutorrent/conf/users/userXXX/config.php

did you set up the conf.php? Also i had to comment out this line in plugin.info because of a bug which doesn't work with the paths being set. Code: web.external.error: rar,zip,unzip

I'm confused....I'm asking to have it work on a server which has basic auth on the entire server....why is this such an issue? Rutorrent multi user uses auth....I don't want to have an area which isn't protected by auth.... So you're going to add mkv at some point? I wasnt sure what you meant...

You should send a XML-RPC request to rtorrent and have your code executed by rtorrent. Take a look at some of the other plugins. Eg. you could send the following rtorrent command: execute={/path/to/php,/path/to/your/code.php}
