If you use plugin rpc and PHP_USE_GZIP=true, rtorrent's output via RPC will be gzipped. If you use webserver SCGI - will be gzipped some ruTorrent answers only. Don't know, will the gzip offer any benifets for your system at all. This dependens from many factors. You need it if 1) Your system...

rutorrent is written in javascript and php. look at some of the other plugins for more hints. Also, if you have a specific question, by all means ask.

I have been going through the basic plugins ,trying to understand how its done,had to use google translate for the files (not russian here). If you say chrome is buggy then i will stick with firebug
