Specifying the path in the config file does the trick, if installing curl doesn't work. In debian etch and lenny releases the path is: /usr/local/bin/curl I haven't had the problem installiing in centos OSes.

1) You got this for *any* data, or for specific? Your create torrent from file, or from directory? 2) About new files. Is new file accessible for web-server for reading?

He wants to use --Inform, there is no need to compile anything. The obvious answer is to change the system call in that plugin, ideally making the command used configurable if it isn't.
