    help optimising rutorrent

yah, i dind't mean it as an insult. I just mean that sometimes it's wrong, ESPECIALLY if you're not on linux (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris, OpenSolaris) For instance, right now, it's reporting 51% cpu use on one of my systems. When i check this system in top i see this: Code: CPU states: 93.9%...

your speeds don't look slow to me. The look fine. the "use of ram" as you call it, is probably not being reported correctly. The cpuload plugin isn't great. For "actual" reporting, use shell program like "top"

    help optimising rutorrent

no, instead use cron. i already posted a script in this forum which will work for this, and you can set cron to run as often as you like (even every 5 minutes) use the search option.

    help optimising rutorrent

dude, not to be a jerk but how the hell would we know? That's like saying "my car starts making weird noises when i drive it, what's wrong?" Without a lot more information how would anyone be able to help?

    help optimising rutorrent

well that's a loaded question...you can do many things...optimize the linux environment and filesystem, you can tweak the .rtorrenr.rc settings...but what exactly are you trying to optimize it FOR....Speed? Memory use? Also, rtorrent does a fair job of self optimizing if you give it the proper...

As wonslung said, if this doesn't occur too often I wouldn't worry about it.

oh, ok, well i wouldn't sweat it unless it becomes a normal thing

I don't think you needed to reboot your server, all you needed to do was to restart rT, if you thought that was the problem. rT errors quite alot which is reflected in the log tab, HOWEVER you can usually ignore them as rT sorts them out quite well. Unless you can tell us more with regards to...

    Dont save upload/download limits?

It seems to me that the upload/download limits is not saved if rtorrent is restarted. Is that by design or a bug?

    Enable tracker_dump?

magnet urls are indeed supported by rutorrent with the call sendMagnet()
  14. P

    Enable tracker_dump?

i'm pretty sure you can compile a specific svn version of rtorrent to get magnet support. I'll look for it later.

    Enable tracker_dump?

yah, i still say you're doing something wrong. I know it works on hundreds, if not thousands of systems. Rtorrent IS being developed. It's got a somewhat slow release cycle but it DOES get worked on (i think it averages around one or two major releases a year)

    Enable tracker_dump?

on the trac page. open a ticket?

    Enable tracker_dump?

i don't know....i've never had a problem with rtorrent when ti comes to stuff like that.
  18. P

    Enable tracker_dump?

and you are forwarding ports 18400-18440 to the ip of the server rtorrent is on?
  19. P

    Enable tracker_dump?

yah, i'd look at your port forwarding setup if you were behind a router. torrentflux, if i remember right, had UPNP options which could make it easy to forward ports. In rtorrent you must forward them manually.

    Enable tracker_dump?

oh, i wasn't trying to say "don't ask rtorrent questions" I was just explaining why i was confused at first.
