Hey there =)

I followed this guide: http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/393861-Installing-rtorrent-and-rutorrent-on-Debian-based-linux for a set-up of rTorrent + ruTorrent on my Debian server. rTorrent seems to operate fine, but I when trying to run ruTorrent I get the following warning:

Code:
[16.02.2011 03:15:41] Bad link to rTorrent. Check if it is really running. Check $scgi_port and $scgi_host settings in config.php and scgi_port in rTorrent configuration file.
I'm a complete retard at Debian itself though, so I have no idea what else I would have to provide to you guys in order to be of any assistance, so that would be a good start.

Thanks in advance =)

Well, I hadn't come here if I wouldn't have checked those things; they were all as they should be.

I think what the problem was that I screwed up somewhere along a previous deployment of LAMP and when trying it again now in order to make ruTorrent work things got mixed up. Because it is a new server I just reinstalled the OS (was going to change the RAID anyway) and followed the steps again.

you should only need the LAP part of LAMP (or even FAP or SAP, lol)

95% of the time that error is due to:

1) missing or incorrect scgi setting in .rtorrent.rc
2) missing or incorrect setting in the rutorrent config (associated with scgi)
3) rtorrent and rutorrent configured correctly but rtorrent isn't running.
