directory dropdown empty - not accessing watchdirs etc.

Hi

Am trying to setup rtorrent/rutorrent..

I was having a serious problem entering anything into auto-tools complete dir & watch dir..
I was able to set the complete dir without rutorrent 'forgetting' but couldn't get the watchdir set.. as soon as I clicked OK and exited the setup it would forget my input.. from the start I haven't been able to use the drop down menu.. it's just blank..
after creating a folder within the complete dir and using that I got it to stick..

But no torrents are added...
So I tried adding one manually.. which is when I realised that I couldn't add torrents from here either since the drop down is empty.. as the autotools dropdown..

Now I'm stumped.. I have no idea what's wrong..
I saw a post on adding some plugin to be able to browse?? but is that seriously the way to go?

Make sure webserver / user has correct perms set on the directory and they are both inside your $topDirectory path

hi

i've set 'everyone' to full access on the top directory so that should be ok.

off the top of your head do you remember in which files the user is set in rutorrent/rtorrent/lighttpd ?

it seems to be autotools specifically..
if I use the 'browse' button and add a torrent, it downloads fine to my folder set in rtorrent.rc
