I can't save the .torrent file for the torrents I create

I got ruTorrent installed on my Synology NAS station (model DS1511+) the other day, but I am having trouble saving the .torrent file for the torrents I create within the web interface. Basically, I click on the "Create torrent..." button (the yellow star) and then I select the source, add the tracker info and then click on create. The torrent is correctly created and if I had checked the "Start seeding" checkbox the torrent correctly begins seeding. My issue is when I click on the "Save" button. A new tab opens up in my browser (Firefox 4) and a dialog box comes up with the title "Secure Connection Failed" (see attached image). When I click on the "Cancel" button for this dialog, a popup appears in Firefox with the message "Error. Server did not respond." I tried this whole process on another computer and just got the Firefox popup, but not the dialog box about the "Secure Connection Failed".

Can anyone please help?

which version of rutorrent? The latest svn? If not, upgrade to the latest svn version.

Which webserver? Which version of php?

This hasn't relation to ruTorrent. Web-server has a incorrect certificate, and browser has a paranoid configuration. Button "View certificate" must be pressed.

I am not sure what version of ruTorrent I have installed. I used this guide: http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/RTorrent_ruTorrent_HowTo
Can you tell me how to see what version I have? My webserver is lighttpd. My version of php is 5.2.17

I tried the instructions under the lighttpd link you provided, but ultimately lighttpd didn't like the fact that my server I am trying to give a certificate to is just an ip address: lighttpd is throwing me the following error:

"Starting web server: lighttpd
2011-04-21 14:45:05: (network.c.358) can't bind to port: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 443 Cannot assign requested address"

I understand Novik65's point, but I never asked ruTorrent to use ssl security to save my torrent files. From my standpoint I installed everything right and it all works except I can't get my hands on the torrent files for the torrents I create.

UPDATE: I just created a subdomain through my host and attached it to my static ip. I tried making a new certificate with the subdomain rather than the static ip and I am getting the same error.

i don't know what to tell you. Ive never had a problem setting it up. You may have something wrong with your webserver setup...

Sorry - I got it working. I tested it in IE and it worked, then I realized I had a bittorrent add-on installed in Firefox and discovered that it was the culprit after I uninstalled it.
