Making AutoWatch faster

Is it possible to have autowatch check for torrents in a much shorter interval, like as fast as rtorrent's (I think 5 seconds at most?)? I tried using rtorrent's watch directory function but then I couldn't remove data through rutorrent anymore (I don't know what the deal with that is). Ideally, rutorrent would load up new torrents placed in the autowatch directory within seconds. On my install at least, I've seen it take up to 30sec to about a minute.

Oh thanks, that's actually really simple. Do you think setting it to 5 seconds would be bad/have negative consequences?

it depends on the server hosting the rss feeds, even if you set it to 1minute updates, if the server doesnt update the rss for say every 30min, all your doing is wasting 29 checks to the same rss feed

a sane value would be ~15-20 min

personally i think 15-30 minutes is way too long. I've always used 5 minutes.


This is why i'm so excited about brocks IRC plugin. It allows you to get torrents as soon as they appear. It's a very nice plugin so far, and soon to be even better when he adds the auto-connect stuff.

yes, i know, i was replying SkyDrome's comment on 15 minutes being a good value....i just think its way too long for 95% of the epople out there
