hi guys my 1st post so be easy lol i have installed rutorrent on my server then i go to webmin and update all packages my problem then horrises say i have a torrent and i want to remove it but keep the data i go to remove and it removes the torrent +the data how can i stop this happening please if any 1 could help i would be etternally greatful and thanks for your time


just an update i have recently reinstalled all and its still removing the data even tho i telkl it to remove the torrent this is doing my box in lol

im not linux savy so i will explain what i have done after recieving my server i logged in using putty
i then used this command
wget --no-check-certificate -O autodl-setup http://sourceforge.net/projects/autodl-irssi/files/autodl-setup/download
then
sudo sh autodl-setup
then i answer questions and it installs everything i have tried to install subsys seedbox guide off ere but i get stuck halfway threw putty keeps reporting that it fails thats why i used the auto install as said i want to learn to do this as its better to have me own server rather than a seedbox thanks for any light u can shed on this im trully sorry if i come across as a noob well i am at this lol thanks

This is very strange considering that function doesn't contain the command to remove your whole directory... Hence, why an extra plugin was made to remove data. Can you make sure the 'erasedata' plugin is not enabled, and try it again?

This is a error in 'erasedata' plugin. It is fixed now. Try to update from svn.

Run:

It's actually not in the wiki install section to install rutorrent

If you goto http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/wiki/Installation

then Click on 'Main Install' Under 'How to Install', It will take you to a rtorrent installation.

Since he used my installer, this is what he should do as root:

sudo svn up . plugins/*

You may also need to clear your browser cache, including restarting your browser.

thanks guys for all your help its sorted so thankyou very much i now have another problem i have 2tb hdd but my hdd reports 9.8gb however i have downloaded loads more than that is there any way i can get my hdd to report correct usage please

in your rutorrent config, change the $topDirectory setting to match the download directory (or at least the partition)

you probbaly have it set to /
