RPC vs HTTPRPC

Hey Guys,



I was wondering whether there was any info on the difference between the RPC and HTTPRPC plugins?

RPC - http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/wiki/PluginRPC
HTTPRPC - http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/wiki/PluginHTTPRPC

They both seem to serve the same function, although it seems HTTPRPC aims to require less bandwidth, and I know that both will be less efficient than mod_scgi but how do they compare against each other?

i know that people SAY it's less efficient but i haven't noticed this.


The only thing i noticed is httprpc takes longer for the initial load but after that first load it seems to be faster and uses about 1/10th the bandwidth.


both are more secure than the alternative.

I use httprpc because it's uses a lot less bandwidth than the alternatives.

Both are definitely a lot easier that mod_scgi which just becomes a tiresome with 10+ RPC mount points that all need securing.
