Hi All,

Just moved over to using rutorrent/rtorrent and setting up all of my feeds.

I have one of my sites that has a HTTP Authentication Feed and i can't seem to get it working.

The feed is setup like: http://user:p[email protected]/rssddl.xml

I have been using utorrent for years and its always worked, and it continues to work on another machine, just when i try and add this feed in through rutorrent i get this error:

Error Loading Feed. (http://user:p[email protected]/rssddl.xml)

I am not sure if this is a rtorrent or rutorrent problem, but i thought i would start off here to check first.

any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

does the site require cookies at all?

Perhaps this is something which could be handled via loginmgr...

Not sure if it requires a cookie, however if there is a cookie i can get it from my browser.

how could i tell if the site would need a cookie? is loginmgr a plugin that i can test out?

Is this a site you can provide invites to? If so it may be easier to get working.

hey bro, i can't find the RSS on the site.

Anyways, i sent novik the link so when he sees this, he'll know what it is about and might be able to help....I will keep looking for the RSS link

EDIT: I found it....I don't know if it is going to work or not, never seen a link which was set up like this before.

Yeah its strange. I have been told by the guys on the site that it may not work well with rtorrent, however it works perfectly with utorrent. for a number of years.

if there is anyway you could get it going it would be fantastic.

cheers

Do you want me to update just the rutorrent front end?

Whats the best way to update via the svn? i have not done that before. sorry for the easy question.
my host is running ubuntu if that helps.

cheers.

please dont' double post bro.

If svn checkout works for you on one machine, just download it with that machine, then use ftp or scp to copy it to the other.

but as i said in your other thread, sounds like a probelm wiht your svn client, or perhaps some sort of problem with dns/allowed hosts or something

im sorry about that. i thought it would be cleaner to kick off a new thread. won't do that next time.

ok so the best option may be to download the svn copy to home, then ftp/sftp it up to the server and overwrite the files on the server? would this be ok?

Do i not need to kick off this command when i finish getting the svn copy:
Code:
cd /var/www/rutorrent/
svn upor this is only if i want to upgrade to the latest svn another time?

Also do i need to take a backup of my current settings and rss settings before uploading this svn copy?

really appreciate your help on this so far.

You should copy your rutorrent folder (and everything in it) to the working computer, then do a svn up there, and finally copy everything back. That way you won't overwrite any config files. This assumes that you installed ruTorrent from subversion.
