rutorrent JS Error

So when I open rutorrent I'm presented with the following error:
[24.02.2011 17:17:04] WebUI started.
[24.02.2011 17:17:06] JS error: [http://nerv/rutorrent/ : 0] illegal character
Keep in mind the message on startup is only on my Windows (Firefox) machine, when opening on Safari on the Mac I'm not presented with this error.
It occasionally spits the same error at random and at other times when downloading the JS error has a whole bunch of other information related to the torrents it's interacting with I'll edit and add that part in shortly when it happens again.

Tried doing a few searches and I haven't found any results with the 'illegal character' JS error.
I've tried removing everything within rutorrent/share/users and rutorrent/share/settings, I've tried clearing cache to no accord.
The files within the directory are owned by root, not too sure what else I should be looking at .

Clear your browser cache and restart your browser.

also, i've seen js errors happen when people mix svn plugins with non-svn rutorrent or vise versa

Just tried clearing cache and restarting browser, same thing.
I downloaded both rutorrent and the plugins from the googlecode download page.

Obviously with many more strings and value's (looks like it lists all torrents in the list).

Another thing of note that may or may not be of help is that I cannot actually use my rutorrent gui until I have removed atleast 4 plugins from the pack (prior to removing these plugins I would receive errors relating the php path and curl path) keep in mind those errors would be occurring even though the appropriate paths had been set in the config.php.
Anyway here's a quick list of the 4 plugins:
- httprpc
- rpc
- rss
- rssurlrewrite

Once those 4 plugins have been moved out of plugins rutorrent works however the error above is spat out.

EDIT: I'm completely out of ideas now. I thought it may have something to do with the fact that I don't have php5 with the appropriate extensions/plugins so I installed them aswell yet it's still behaving the same :|.

Hi m8,

Have you checked you have all php modules installed:

curl php5-cgi php-pear php5-curl php5-dev php5-geoip (for OS lenny,deb 4 probably ubuntu) at least.

Obviously the modules depends on your OS.

I've set up tons of machines with FreeBSD and never had an issue.


Try deleting rutorrent and checking out a new copy via svn.
