I don't agree that this is a bug. Percentage downloaded is calculated regarding the whole torrent size.
But despite that, I agree with your request....
Perhaps a check box to calculate percentage only for the files that are marked for download would be a nice touch.
Leave it unchecked and it has the current behaviour.
Whether it is easy to implement, though, only Novik can say...
