What is the reason items cannot have multiple labels? I find a frequent need to tag them with multiple tags. To take it one step farther, probably much harder to implement, you could have tagging rules. For instance, items from a certain tracker all automatically get certain tags upon creation.

Is it possible to add all the .torrent files from one directory either locally on the client machine or on the host server? This would be a lot easier that starting each torrent individually.
